If long-term precipitation data are available, the probability of occurrence of precipitation can be determined by statistical methods. <br />  In this study, the city of Semnan has been selected in order to determine the probability of annual, seasonal and monthly precipitation. Precipitation data in this city have been analyzed using computer software and statistical methods. Wet and dry periods, seasonal and monthly variations in precipitation and the probability of occurrence of seasonal and monthly precipitation have been determined. بارندگى یک عنصر اقلیمى است که سال به سال تغییر مى‏ کند و در واقع بارندگى یک متغیر تصادفى در طول زمان است. در صورت دسترسى به آمار دراز مدت بارندگى، مى‏ توان احتمال وقوع بارندگى را به کمک روش هاى آمارى تعیین کرد.<br />  در این مطالعه به منظور تعیین احتمال ریزش بارندگى سالیانه، فصلى و ماهیانه شهر سمنان انتخاب شده است. اطلاعات بارندگى در این شهر با نرم‏ افزارهاى کامپیوترى و با کمک روش هاى آمارى آنالیز شده ‏اند. دوره‏ هاى ترسالى و خشک‏سالى، تغییرات فصلى و ماهیانه بارندگى و احتمال وقوع بارندگى فصلى و ماهیانه مشخص گردیده است. https://www.sepehr.org/article_28043_08b41ec0a7a71415ee6b932e222d8af3.pdf
