Legibility and clarity of a map and its agreement with reality (nature) is fulfilled with the help of colors. Application of various colors in map is carried out according to natural conditions and land features and the aim and scale of maps based on principles of cartography. Selection of colors in maps should be from esthetic point of view and accompanied by artistic qualities that can help introduce the face of the earth better and add to the map’s delicacy.<br />In the issue of maps’ color some basic considerations such as choice of color and the method of implementation of colored print should be taken into account so that color design of maps can increase the practical values of maps. در کارتوگرافی، رنگ نقشه ­ها جایگاه ویژه ­ای دارد. خوانایی و گویایی نقشه و انطباق عوارض آن با واقعیت (طبیعت) به کمک رنگ میسر است. چگونگی به کار بردن رنگ ­ها به لحاظ تنوع و توزیع رنگ در نقشه متناسب با شرایط طبیعی و وضعیت عوارض زمین، هدف و مقیاس نقشه براساس اصول کارتوگرافی است. انتخاب رنگ در نقشه از نقطه نظر زیبایی شناسی و با در نظر گرفتن کیفیت هنری به صورتی است که ضمن معرفی بهتر چهره زمین بر ارزش هندسی و ظرافت­های نقشه می­ افزاید.<br /> در مبحث رنگ نقشه ­ها بایستی مواردی اساسی از جمله انتخاب رنگ، روش و اجرا و چگونگی چاپ رنگین مورد توجه قرار گیرد تا با آشنایی آن­ها، بتوان در طراحی نقشه­ رنگی ارزش­های افزونی را بر کاربرد نقشه­ ها پدید آورد. https://www.sepehr.org/article_28876_eade5febf80213b6310d1b17bafc98ff.pdf
