چکیده

خاورمیانه یا شرق میانه، ناحیه ­ای است در جنوب غربی آسیا و شمال شرقی آفریقا که شامل ترکیه، ایران، عراق، فلسطین، اردن، لبنان، سوریه و کشورهای شبه جزیره عربستان به علاوه مصر و سودان می ­باشد. پاره ­ای از منابع افغانستان و پاکستان را نیز جزو خاورمیانه محسوب می­ دارند. اصطلاح خاورمیانه در جنگ جهانی دوم به وسیله ارتش انگلستان رواج یافت و شامل منطقه ­ای است که از نظر استراتژیک و ژئوپولیتیک دارای اهمیت بسیار است.
این مقاله خلاصه­ ای از گزارش سفر آقای پرست.جی.ویسلند است که برای بررسی بحران آب در خاورمیانه به کشورهای مختلف منطقه سفر کرده و به لحاظ دقتی که به ابعاد مختلف مسئله داشته است، حائز اهمیت است.

چکیده [English]

Middle East is an area in Southeastern Asia and Northeastern Africa which includes Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, countries of Arabic Peninsula as well as Egypt and Sudan. Some also consider Afghanistan and Pakistan as belonging to the Middle East. The term “Middle East” became customary by the British Army during the Second World War, and this area is of great importance in strategic and geopolitical terms.
This article is a summary of the report of a travel in the Middle East countries for study of water crisis, which, considering its great attention to different aspects of the issue, can be of great value.
