Abstract

Military geography is a science that is defined as a branch of geography according to one of the comprehensive definitions of this field. It studies the effect of natural and cultural environment on military / political attitudes, plans, programs and various kinds of military and support operations on global, regional and local scales. The key factors discussed in this science sometimes directly or indirectly affect vast parts of military activities, including:
Strategies; military tactics, techniques and deployments; beliefs’ bases; commandment and control; structures of organization; optimum combination of land utilization; marine, air and ground forces; fire aiming, collection of (operational or intelligence) data; research and development; provision, repair and allocation of armaments and equipment and, of course, overhaul, medical support and training.
