Abstract

After the Industrial Revolution, urban and other residential areas’ planning became significantly important. With rapid growth of population and expansion of cities, more and more activities were undertaken to prepare and develop suitable models for distribution of urban population.
Urban planners have defined urban planning activities in different ways, and in general two major
methods have been recognized in urban planning and design:
1) The method that mainly focuses on the body of the city and is called physical urbanization.
2) A method that thoroughly examines the development of the city to make certain that urbanization is not limited to a physical plan.
