چکیده
امروزه با پیشرفت و توسعه تکنولوژی کامپیوتر تعداد زیادی از شرکت ها و سازمان ها که مسئولیت تهیه نقشه را به عهده دارند جهت دستیابی به نقشه های رقومی اقدام به تغییر سیستم دستی (کارتوگرافی دستی) به سیستم کامپیوتری (کارتوگرافی دیجیتال) کرده اند.
حال به کمک و مساعدت کامپیوتر تمام مراحل کارتوگرافی دستی به صورت کامپیوتری انجام می گیرد. که باعث تسریع در عملیات کارتوگرافی و کیفیت برتر در مراحل کار و کاهش و تقلیل هزینه در تهیه نقشه می شود.
در این مقاله بررسی اطلاعات Raster و Vector در ساخت تصاویر کراتوگرافی و معایب و محاسن و چگونگی پردازش این تصاویر (image processing) صورت خواهد گرفت.

Today, with advances and development of computer technology, many firms and organizations which practice map preparation have turned to conversion of manual system (manual cartography) to computer system (digital cartography). Currently all stages of manual cartography are carried out using computers, which leads to increase of the speed of cartographic operation, achievement of top quality at stages of work and reduction of map preparation costs.
In this paper, the Raster and Vector information in creation of cartographic images as well as advantages and disadvantages of these images and their method of processing are examined.
